Ok, final update. Thanks to all who helped build this list, and apologies to those I never made the time to reply to.

Check the back of any SanDisk cards. A current theory is that cards that have "© 99 SanDisk" on the back won't work with the MuVo², but that those with "© 03 SanDisk" will. Maybe.

I've had a few emails about a possible problem. If the CF card works intermittently and it fails during the firmware write process then it can leave the MuVo² with a corrupted firmware that will stop it from working. I don't know if it is possible to tell if a card will or won't fail during the update.

I can't remember the details, but I had a few emails a while back where people had a problem with errors on transfer which required the MuVo to be reformatted. I had my first transfer error today. Removed the MuVo, it tried to run smartscan and then told me to run scandisk on the pc. So I plugged it back in, pc recognized it, I ran "chkdsk /f h:" and the MuVo then worked. I assume that's been tried, but maybe it will work for some people.

Finally, a quick request. If anyone has had a microdrive fail such that it starts reporting the wrong size to windows could you let me know? I've just had an email from someone with this problem and I'm wondering if it is a one off problem or not.

If there are any errors in the above list then please let me know. Please include all details that you can (serial numbers/part numbers/CHS geometry), but still let me know even if you can't include extra information. Last updated 20060327.
